NEedle & THread 101 (for beginners)

2 Hours Per Class

Students will develop basic hand stitching and sewing machine skills. The beginner student must be able to read and interpret written directions. They will have an opportunity to make various projects by hand and by machine. This class is structured for a beginner sewer.

Building upon acquired knowledge, students will continue to increase their sewing machine skills.

For students who have completed at least 1 year of sewing. Helpful skills students should have: The ability to thread a machine, load a bobbin, understand sewing terminology, and do basic hand stitches. Knows how to keep a seam allowance, and sew a corner by machine "drop and pivot" (can drop the needle, lift the presser foot, and turn the fabric).
